Denny footbridge closed after being declared unsafe

Falkirk Council has closed the footbridge over the River Carron off Winchester Avenue on grounds of public safety.

It's been determined that Dale Bridge could fail in the event of flood conditions, after serious scouring was noted on its supporting pier. The bridge deck is also reported to be buckled.

The council is carrying out a feasibility study into options for the repair or replacement of the bridge, which is well used by the community.
